Floor Chair
Pavimento is a floor chair inspired by the traditional floor chairs widely used in Asian culture. It consists of table and a chair that perfectly fits together.

Background
Floor chairs are commonly found in Asian cultures. Asian people usualy feel more comfortable sitting on the floor rather than on a chair. Since asian people take off their shoes when entering their houses, they have clean floors. This naturally led them to sit on the floor when eating, spend- ing time with their family, and even when studying. As a Korean student studying abroad, I became nostalgic about my home culture, which led me to design a modern floor chair that reflects my country’s culture.

Final Product
Removable Table
The framwork of the chair can be pulled out and used as a table. When you are not using the table, you can easily slide back in the back of the chair. With the seamless and compact design, it is also suitable for those who live in a studio apartment.
USB Port
USB Port is attached to the inner arm rest. This allows the user to charge their electronic devices without having to get up and search for an outlet.
Storage
This is a storage slit. The user can slide in their phone or small products. This al- lows them to keep their smaller belong- ings in one place so that they will know where they are all the time.
Cherry Wood & Ivory Upholstery Fabric
Furnitures made out of deep red colored wood is commonly found in Asian homes. Therefore, I decided to resemble the feeling of it in the table framework. Along with the wood ta- ble, I decided to add a modern feeling to the chair by using an ivory colored fabric in order to get both antique and modern style within one chair.
