Flatpack DIY Pendant Lighting.
Mae is a pendant lighting that turns your ordinary bedroom into a cozy one! Inspired from a cocoon, Mae can be easily assembled with is unique flat lamp shades. I started off with the goal of making a flatpack DIY lamps. After many iterations and development, Mae was born.

The Problem
Although overhead lighting provides necessary illumination, its excessive brightness disrupts the ambiance of cozy afternoons.
Ideation
Form and polystyrene lamp shade patterns were explored to design an aesthetically pleasing lamp that resembles a cocoon shape. I experimented with customized hardware for the lamp socket holder in order to design an easy-to-assemble pendant light.
